Nazi Saboteurs at Horseshoe Curve During WWII

The Murrysville Recreation Department and Murrysville Community Library are pleased to bring Ken Serfass, a professional living historian, back for another fascinating presentation on Wednesday, October 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Murrysville Municipal Building, Council Chambers. Ken visited us via Zoom earlier this year as Ulysses S. Grant, but now he’ll join us in person to give insight on how the Nazis tried to cripple core points in the U.S. infrastructure during WWII by destroying key targets, one of them being the Horseshoe Curve located in Altoona, Pa. Ken will delve into this plan, known as “Operation Pastorius”, and how it was foiled in Altoona by the U.S. Coast Guard.
